‘I can win this!’ Channel Seven CONFIRMS the second contestant to enter the revamped Big Brother house

The upcoming Big Brother Australia reboot will premiere on Channel Seven in June.

A short video saw former AFL player Daniel Gorringe, 27, announce that unlike his failed career in football, he believes he can win the reality series.

The sports star previously played for the Gold Coast Suns and Carlton Football Club, before retiring and focusing his efforts on entertaining people on Instagram.

‘I played footy from when I was 13. I guess I started getting somewhat good,’ Daniel said on camera.

‘[I] got drafted to the GC (Gold Coast). The thing about footy is you’ve got to be able to get the ball, and I just couldn’t get the ball. So I got sacked.

‘I was lucky enough to get picked by Carlton and then they sacked me again,’ he added with a laugh.

‘It’s funny now, but I do feel bad for the footy clubs that picked me up.’

Despite his failed football career, Daniel believes he has what it takes to win the revamped Big Brother.

In it to win: 'It's funny now, but I do feel bad for the footy clubs that picked me up,' Daniel said on camera, before adding: 'For some weird reason, I believe I can win this'

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed Daniel was set to star on the series.

He seemingly confirmed his appearance by failing to share a single social media post between February 5 and April 8 – which was when the show was pre-recorded.

Daniel will join confirmed housemate Mat, a 30-year-old electrician from Broken Hill in New South Wales.

According to Seven, he’ll bring ‘humour, wit, smarts, ADHD energy and a “beautiful big head” into the Big Brother house’.

He says his fiancée Jess is ‘the best thing that ever happened to me’.

Big Brother host Sonia Kruger recently revealed this year’s housemates range in age from 19 to 61 – with the average being in their 30s.

The entire season was pre-recorded in Sydney earlier this year, except for the finale, which will be the only live episode with a public vote.
